The challenge
The client’s team was investing the bulk of their man-hours into low-revenue projects (Project A) while high-revenue projects (Project B) were getting neglected. The owner had zero visibility into where the team’s time was going, causing profit leaks and resource misallocation.
Our approach
We designed and developed a custom project management tool centered around man-hour tracking and allocation. Instead of generic task management, our solution built a profit-first dashboard that showed exactly how time was being spent, stage by stage, project by project, discipline by discipline.
The Problem: An engineering design firm was bleeding man-hours on projects that barely made money, while ignoring the ones that drove revenue.
The Shizzy Fix: We didn’t just give them another “to-do list app.” We built a profit-centric project management system with:
- Man-hour planning & forecasting per project/stage.
- Time tracking with manual + timer-based logging.
- Progress dashboards (burn rate, utilization, Gantt charts).
- Reports & analytics on discipline-wise and individual efficiency.
- Notifications, reminders, and weekly summaries.
The Outcome: The owner can now glance at a dashboard and know exactly which project deserves attention, which one is draining resources, and how the team is performing. That’s clarity. That’s Shizzy.
